Doing Anti-racism

Sometimes I wonder if racism will ever be put to an end. Of course not everything will be perfect in a society but is it possible that a century from now racism won't exist? In my sociology class, we learned an acrostic that teaches how to perform "anti-racism". The first thing to do is to Acknowledge the reality of white privilege. Then, Never exclude or deny access to opportunity on the basis of race. Teach children about race. Institute equitable funding programs to allow all children to develop their potential. Recognize the persistence of racism, in its color-blind form. Address your own racial bias/ reject stereotypes. Challenge racist attitudes and behaviors. Involve yourself routinely in anti-racist work, at least within your sphere of influence. Stop systematic racism by combating it wherever it appears. Lastly, Maintain cross-racial contact in order to facilitate inter-group understanding. If everyone was to go by this acrostic and spread awareness on anti-racism, we could stop history from repeating itself.
